The S-70UAS U-Hawk is a modified UH-60L that removes the cockpit entirely to create an uncrewed, mission-flexible platform designed for logistics, support, and future air-ground teaming missions. After years of experimentation with the MATRIX autonomy suite and the optionally piloted Black Hawk, Sikorsky has now taken the next step toward a fully autonomous utility helicopter: on Oct. 13, 2025, during the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) 2025, Sikorsky announced the new prototype of an unmanned Black Hawk, dubbed S-70UAS U-Hawk. Describing the U-Hawk as a versatile autonomous aircraft that transforms one of the world’s most proven helicopter platforms…
Chinese advanced air mobility developer EHang has unveiled its latest electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, the VT35. The new model was shown airborne in a social media video on October 13, 2025, ahead of an official presentation in Hefei, China, where EHang has established a new industrial base for the aircraft. The company described the VT35 as a “next-generation long-range pilotless passenger eVTOL”. It appears to be an evolution of the earlier VT30 demonstrator, first unveiled in September 2021, and which introduced fixed wings to improve endurance compared to the company’s original multicopter concept. According to EHang, the…
AUSTIN, Texas — Austin has long attracted high-tech startups and innovators, bringing the U.S. Army to the Texas capital seven years ago with the promise of a community that would carry the service’s ambitious modernization push. The Army created a new four-star outfit – Futures Command – in the late summer of 2018, right in the city center, empowered with a mandate to quickly develop new requirements for modern capabilities.Seven years later, Austin’s vibes have grown even more future-forward. Cowboy-booted pedestrians side-step robots lumbering along sidewalks delivering takeout food while driverless taxis blend into regular traffic and robotic-armed baristas serve up…

10 days ago, my mom passed away after a very long battle with ovarian cancer. I published a post the same day — “My Mom’s Suffering Is Over: Reflecting On The Best Of Times, Worst Of Times” — which I actually started writing while sitting next to her in her hospice bed, as she was having her last deep sleep, prior to finally passing and being out of pain (for me, writing in these kinds of situations can be really cathartic… I didn’t know what else to do with myself, after holding her hand for hours). While this post will hopefully…
The end of the year is fast approaching. Cirium Diio data for November shows the Boeing 787 (the 8, 9, and 10 variants combined) will operate more than one in four of the world’s long-haul flights (27%). It has replaced the 777 as the world’s leading widebody. The middle-of-the-road 787-9 is the top twin-aisle for both overall service and long-haul activity. The 787-9 combines a very long range with relatively high capacity. It is by far the most popular 787 variant. Unsurprisingly, it operates all the world’s ten longest one-stop Dreamliner flights. This includes the leading route: Qantas from Sydney…
