Spirit Airlines has secured US Bankruptcy Court approval for a $475 million debtor-in-possession financing facility and a key settlement with its largest aircraft lessor, AerCap. The approvals mark a major step in the airline’s ongoing Chapter 11 restructuring.  The financing is provided by Spirit’s existing bondholders, with $200 million immediately accessible to support operations during the reorganization.  Under the approved agreement with AerCap, the lessor will pay Spirit $150 million, Spirit will reject leases on 27 AerCap aircraft, and all outstanding claims between the parties will be resolved. The U.S. Army has not yet terminated the Improved Turbine Engine Program despite the service proposing to end the program as part of its major transformation initiative laid out in May.While the service continues to look at different courses of action with the program, it has continued its testing program. PARIS — Denmark will buy 16 additional F-35 jets, invest in air defenses and maritime patrol aircraft and add to its fleet of Arctic-ready patrol vessels as part of a military spending package through to 2033 worth 88 billion Danish kroner ($13.7 billion), the government said.The government is budgeting 29 billion kroner for more F-35s to bring the total planned fleet to 43 aircraft, the Danish Ministry of Defense said in a statement late Friday.
