Seattle Tacoma International Airport (SEA) is facing issues with its fuel supply, and it’s starting to impact passengers. This isn’t exactly a great week for these kinds of issues, as we approach the busy Thanksgiving travel period. Airlines prepare for fuel disruptions at SeaTac AirportThe Olympic Pipeline, which supplies fuel to SeaTac Airport, has been facing issues in recent times. Last week, it was shut down, following discovery of a leak. While it was briefly restored, an additional fuel leak was discovered a short while later, causing it to be halted once again. The pipeline is operated by BP Pipelines…

Among the US Navy fighters, few aircraft inspire as much fascination as the Grumman F-14 Tomcat: it remains one of the most capable and celebrated fighters ever to launch from a carrier deck. Its range and radar power were unrivaled for its time, and its variable-sweep aerodynamics were a blessing and a curse at the same time. Nearly two decades after its retirement, with rising global tensions, expanding long-range missile threats, and the US Navy seeking new ways to combine range, speed, and air dominance, some observers have begun revisiting what the Tomcat once offered, who knows, maybe also inspired…

Last week, I posed the question of whether I should spend an absolute fortune to fly Air Côte d’Ivoire for a day. As I explained, on my current review trip, I had a couple of extra days in Europe, and one option was to fly the fascinating Air Côte d’Ivoire Airbus A330-900neo between Paris (CDG) and Abidjan (ABJ), one direction in first class, and one direction in business class. It would’ve been really expensive, but this is an airline that interests me, and in particular, I’m intrigued by the airline having a first class product, since I make it a…

Passengers onboard an Air France flight destined for Paris were departing Buenos Aires when there were reports of smoke filling the cabin. This led to the aircraft returning to Buenos Aires Ezeiza International Airport (EZE) out of an abundance of caution, just 35 minutes after the flight had departed. The flight, which was operating from Buenos Aires to Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport (CDG), had departed from EZE on November 20 for the overnight return flight to Paris, and was still gaining altitude when the pilot declared a PAN PAN PAN (an urgent but non-life-threatening situation), and requested to return…

In the world of modern long-haul aviation, few aircraft have reshaped distance, efficiency, and comfort quite like the Airbus A350. Marketed proudly by Airbus as “the long-range leader,” the A350 family represents the manufacturer’s most ambitious attempt to redefine what’s possible on ultra-long-haul routes. But what does that title truly mean, and has the A350 lived up to it? This guide examines the facts and statistics behind the claim, revealing why airlines worldwide now rely on the A350 for their longest and most demanding flights. Since it entered into service in 2015, the A350 has steadily become Airbus’s flagship for…

In the year 1990, a strange series of events led to a bizarre encounter between the US Navy F-14 Tomcat fighter jets and the supersonic Concorde jetliner. Although no official records of the aircraft’s commercial flight plan have been publicly published, confirmation was delivered in the form of a photograph by the Tomcat pilots. That picture is the only known photo ever taken of a Concorde flying over Mach 2. Why was a charter flight, presumably, of a famous and rare commercial jet, intercepted by fighter jets? The reason is that this particular route took the graceful supersonic transport (SST)…
