The mission was supported by the Royal Danish Air Force, underscoring Denmark’s contribution in the security of the Arctic, and Greenland’s role in the defense of North America. In the second such deployment this year, U.S. Air Force F-35A Lightning IIs, a KC-135 Stratotanker and F-16 Fighting Falcons deployed to Greenland’s Pituffik Space Base. This was part of a four-day operation early in October, described as a “dynamic operational exercise,”NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) and AFNORTH (Air Forces North) revealed in an Oct. 29, 2025, press release. The RDAF (Royal Danish Air Force) also supported the deployment with a…

Korean Air has joined the ranks of major combination carriers that have selected Airbus’ new A350F in a deal for seven units. Should an August deal with Boeing that includes eight 777-8Fs be finalized, Korean will become the second carrier to have both next-generation, large-widebody freighter types on order. Since its introduction in 2007, the Airbus A380 has been unrivaled in terms of scale and passenger experience, a true spectacle of the skies. Its grandeur brought with it an expectation of resounding success, but in a rapidly changing and ever-dynamic aviation landscape, airlines began to turn away from the aircraft. Now, the focus is on finding a successor that retains the same allure while also being highly adapted to the efficiency-driven environment of the current aviation industry. Boeing has been tirelessly working on this exact successor. A new generation of their widely successful 777 series, the 777X. Development setbacks…
Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) is now beta-rolling out “Delta Concierge,” an AI assistant that will be built into the Fly Delta app for SkyMiles members. This tool authenticates users, surfaces real-time answers about flights, seats, and gates, all within 24 hours of departure. SkyMiles benefits, eCrdits, and bag status, all of which include tracking and claim updates, could soon be managed far more effectively by Delta’s AI assistant. The airline launches with limited features for a small, randomly selected user group, with the scope to expand based on this feedback. Concierge is currently positioned as a bridge between digital…
We’re currently wrapping up an awesome trip to Iceland. While I’ll of course have a full review upon returning home, I’m sharing a few “live” highlights. I already wrote about our experience at the Reykjavik EDITION, which is a solid Marriott hotel. However, the property I was most looking forward to checking out this trip was The Retreat at Blue Lagoon, which is the 60-room ultra-luxury hotel located at the Blue Lagoon. I have to be honest, I wasn’t necessarily expecting all that much (despite the high price point), but I was so pleasantly surprised. Let me share some initial…
Delta Air Lines is doubling down on its strategy of providing weekend getaway flights to popular leisure destinations. The airline has announced it will add 13 new Saturday-only routes from six of its hubs as part of its Summer 2026 schedule. The new routes are targeted at travelers “craving mountain air, coastal charm or a beachside breeze,” making use of equipment that is less utilized over weekends. Particularly notable is that Delta is continuing its relentless expansion at Austin Bergstrom International Airport, with the addition of three seasonal Saturday-only routes for the first time. The carrier will also be bringing…
Aviation is filled with duopolies and triopolies. In the Middle East, it’s Emirates, Etihad Airways, and Qatar Airways that dominate the region, and they are known for being super-connectors due to the locations of their hubs. But to make it work, the airlines need scale in both network and total passengers. This means a large fleet of widebody aircraft with high passenger capacity. Emirates’ main hub is in Dubai International Airport, while Qatar Airways’ hub is at Doha Hamad International Airport. Etihad Airways, the youngest of the three Middle Eastern carriers, is based at Abu Dhabi Zayed International Airport. All…
Out of a hailstorm of machine gun fire and heavy shelling, Pvt. Burton Holmes returned, badly wounded, to the 371st Infantry Regiment’s command post. His unit had been set up, lured out onto Hill 188 by the false promise of surrender, leaving them vulnerable to the surprise attack from the Germans. But Holmes returned only because his automatic rifle was out of commission. He refused to be taken to the hospital for treatment. Instead, he got a reserve automatic rifle and rejoined the fight, firing upon the enemy until he died. His try-or-die attitude was shared by all of Company C. His…
