Franco-Italian turboprop manufacturer ATR has announced that Ethiopian Airlines will lease two brand new ATR 72-600 aircraft to Congo’s national carrier Air Congo, in which Ethiopian holds a 49% stake.  ATR said that the agreement, made during Dubai Airshow 2025, represents a “significant milestone in ATR’s expansion in Africa”.   The manufacturer said that Ethiopian Airlines “relies on the most advanced, fuel-efficient and cost-effective regional aircraft to connect regions across Congo.”  The leasing agreement follows a strategic partnership announced at the Farnborough International Airshow in July 2024, where ATR and Ethiopian Airlines agreed to collaborate on developing ATR maintenance capabilities in Ethiopia.  This initiative will establish Ethiopian Airlines as a regional…

It appears that United Airlines will cease flying from Washington Dulles to Dakar and from Newark to Stockholm Arlanda. All flights to the Senegalese capital have been removed after early March, while no flight to Sweden is now bookable in 2026. Ishrion Aviation first noticed these developments, which are perhaps unsurprising given market changes. The Star Alliance member has been contacted for comment. PARIS — Diehl Defence and Lockheed Martin will explore integration of the German company’s IRIS-T missiles into the American company’s Mk41 VLS, the most widely used vertical launch system in Western navies.The two firms will also look at the possibility of integrating IRIS-T in the Aegis Weapon System, Diehl said in a Nov. 18 statement. Riyadh Air has confirmed an order for 120 CFM International LEAP-1A engines to power 60 Airbus A321neo family aircraft that were ordered in 2024.  The order, which also includes spare engines, was signed on November 18, 2025, the second day of the Dubai Airshow, by Adam Boukadida, CFO of Riyadh Air, and Stéphane Cueille, CEO of Safran Aircraft Engines.    For its new A321neo fleet, Riyadh Air will take advantage of CFM’s fuel-efficient LEAP-1A engines, which will feature the “latest high-pressure turbine durability kit.” This kit is designed to extend the engine’s operational time in hot regions like the Middle East.  “These engines deliver exceptional fuel efficiency, lower…

A U.S. Army exercise with NATO allies saw soldiers take out attacking drones by launching small interceptor drones from the back of a pickup truck.
