Korean Air said the signing drew over 90 representatives from government, local authorities, and the National Assembly, underlining the project’s significance to South Korea’s aviation sector. More than steel and concrete Vice Chairman Keehong Woo addressed the…
"In the frame-by-frame photos from the surveillance video, the left engine can be seen rotating upward from the wing, and as it detaches from the wing, a fire ignites that engulfs both the departing engine/pylon and the area of the wing where the engine was attached." Source: Just part of the details that were revealed in a recent update from the NTSB, following the tragic Lousville UPS MD-11 accident.
Radar Required A term displayed on charts and approach plates and included in FDC NOTAMs to alert pilots that segments of either an instrument approach procedure or a route are not navigable because of either the absence or unusability of a NAVAID. The pilot can expect to be provided radar navigational guidance while transiting segments labeled with this term.

Well this is a bit unusual. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is reporting that it’ll be the busiest Thanksgiving for air travel in 15 years, while airline data suggests otherwise. There’s an interesting explanation, as it comes down to different definitions of “busy.” Thanksgiving travel bookings down 4.5% year-over-yearAviation analytics company Cirium has analyzed flight booking data in advance of the Thanksgiving 2025 travel period, and has compared it to 2024. The data has revealed that Thanksgiving travel bookings are down 4.48% compared to last year. This is for the travel period of the Wednesday before Thanksgiving to Thanksgiving Sunday (November…
The domestic South Korean market from Seoul Gimpo to Jeju has more scheduled Boeing 777 passenger flights than any other airport pair in the world. This is based on using Cirium Diio data to examine the type’s full schedule in December. It overtakes Tokyo Haneda-Sapporo, which ranked first globally in November. Some readers may not be surprised by Gimpo-Jeju’s pole position. After all, it is the world’s most-served airport pair overall. When all aircraft types and variants are included, over 120 daily flights (each way!) are typically available. Jeju is the so-called Hawaii of Asia. It is quick and cheap…
Archer Aviation is seeking to turn the electric powertrain developed for its Midnight air taxi into a full-fledged business line of its own, signing a powerplant supply agreement with Anduril Industries and UAE defense group EDGE, while also seeking to cement additional deals with other aircraft makers. The UAE has committed to an initial order of 50 Omen systems, possibly…
In February 2024, Etihad Guest updated its change and cancellation fees for award tickets, introducing the world’s most punitive policy. This was announced as part of a larger overhaul of the Etihad Guest program. Then in June 2025, the program updated these fees again. Now in November 2025, the program has updated the fees for a third time. The sad thing is, through all versions of these changes, the policy has been the most punitive in the industry. It’s just a question of which aspect of the policy is the worst. While other frequent flyer programs have largely eliminated change and…
