The Airbus A380 is the world’s largest airliner, and although it was a commercial failure, it was used by several flag carriers, including Air France. Air France had a total of ten A380s, first delivered in 2009, and with Paris being one of the world’s largest business hubs and one of the world’s most visited cities by tourists, the enormous double-decker would appear to be a slam dunk. Today, however, Air France doesn’t have a single Airbus A380 in its fleet, and it was the first airline in the world to retire its A380 fleet. The Airbus A380 was removed…
United Airlines has more flights from the US to Europe than any other operator. In July 2026, the Star Alliance member plans 104 daily departures in this market. Based on its schedule submission to Cirium Diio, they’re down by 1% compared to July 2025. While it is not a big reduction, it does stand out. Delta’s European flights have grown by 1%, while American’s are up by 6%. It started with a visit to war-torn Ukraine to gauge the use of drone technology. But as diplomatic momentum built up to end Russia’s war in Ukraine, U.S. Army Secretary Dan Driscoll was tapped by President Donald Trump to help close the U.S.-backed deal. “Driscoll is a trusted voice of the administration and a close ally,” a senior U.S. official told Military Times. The official said Driscoll emerged as a key member of the negotiating team due to a twist of fate. “As these conversations were happening, he already had plans to be on the ground in Ukraine,” the official…
Iberia is one of more than 30 European passenger airlines operating between the continent and the US/Canada. The airline will reintroduce Madrid to Toronto flights after three decades, along with brand-new service to Newark. Because of these developments, Iberia will be the tenth-largest European carrier for US/Canada flights next summer, up three places in a year. This analysis is only based on Iberia’s Madrid operation. It does not include Spain’s second most populous city of Barcelona. Such activity is in the hands of the budget operator Level, which now has its own IATA code (LL). Despite this, Level uses Iberia’s…
