Everyone knows that Emirates is overwhelmingly the world’s largest Airbus A380 user. According to ch-aviation, it has 116 double-deckers, not all of which are operational. The number of seats varies from ‘just’ 468 in a four-class configuration, to a whopping 615 in a two-class layout. Australia has moved to procure its first operational batch of MQ-28 Ghost Bat uncrewed aircraft, signing a contract with Boeing for an initial six air vehicles, according to local news report.  The deal, reported by The Sydney Morning Herald to be worth around AU$1 billion ($660 million), will mark the transition of the Ghost Bat program from extended flight testing into formal acquisition by the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). American Airlines recently rolled out a new passenger experience on its long haul flights, particularly with the introduction of its Flagship Suite business class, as well as its front-row Flagship Suite Preferred. Last week, a Delta Air Lines Boeing 717-200 flying from St Louis to Detroit was forced to return to its point of origin shortly after takeoff. The reason for this unplanned diversion was said to have been the emergence of an acidic smell in the cabin, with this year having seen several other similar incidents. ANA Airways has revealed the final details surrounding the retirement of its famous C-3PO-themed Boeing 777-200ER, effectively drawing the airline’s iconic collaboration with the Star Wars franchise to an end. Dutch carrier KLM has retired its first Boeing 737-800 as part of its fleet upgrade, sending the aircraft to Twente Airport (ENS) in the Netherlands for dismantling and recycling, with many components repurposed for KLM or other airlines.  In a statement on December 5, 2025, KLM announced that after disembarking its last passengers at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS), flight PH-BXK departed for a short trip to Twente Airport. Police in the United Kingdom are continuing to undertake a manhunt for the remaining suspects who were involved in a pepper spray attack at London Heathrow Airport (LHR) yesterday morning. The four men are said to have used pepper spray in a lengthy assault, whereby luggage was also stolen. Law enforcement officers were able to arrest one of the four suspects at the scene yesterday morning, but the remaining three are still at large. Canadian leisure airline Air Transat has started to suspend some flights after the union representing its pilots notified airline management of possible/planned industrial action.  On December 7, 2025, the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) issued a 72-hour strike notice, required under the Canada Labour Code, to airline management.
