Air Tahiti Nui announced that it will launch a new direct service between Papeete International Airport (PPT) and Sydney Kingsford Smith International Airport (SYD). The new route will give Australian travelers their first nonstop connection to French Polynesia and add to the island destination’s push to strengthen its international air links. The inaugural flight is scheduled for December 14, 2026, with the airline operating twice weekly in each direction. IRIS Dena was one of Iran’s newest combat ships, and had 180 personnel on board when the submarine attacked. Reports of the Dena being in distress first emerged overnight between Mar. 3 and Mar. 4, 2026, from Sri Lankan sources. A Wall Street Journal’s report, quoting people familiar with the friendly fire incident, says a Kuwaiti F/A-18 might be responsible for the loss of three U.S. F-15Es. As we previously reported, three U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircraft have been shot down in a friendly fire incident over Kuwait, with the crews ejecting safely. The UK government has scheduled its first repatriation flight for British nationals fleeing the Middle East in response to the increasing volatile situation in the region. On March 4, 2026, the UK’s Foreign Office confirmed a charter flight is scheduled to leave Muscat International Airport (MCT) in Oman this evening at 23:00, local time. Those deemed most vulnerable will be given priority and the Foreign Office will contact British nationals to confirm their reservation on the flight.
