Textron Systems said it has been awarded a prototype agreement by the US Army under the Low Altitude Stalking & Strike Ordnance (LASSO) program, marking another step in the Army’s push to field portable loitering munitions for frontline units. Textron said it will deliver a Damocles loitering munition system and conduct a demonstration for the service. An American Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 8 operated a scheduled passenger flight after mechanics patched apparent bullet damage discovered on one of its control surfaces in Colombia. Maintenance crews identified the puncture during a routine inspection in Medellín after the aircraft arrived from Miami on February 23, 2026. According to documents cited by CBS News, mechanics found both an entry and exit hole on an aileron near the trailing edge of one wing. Technicians patched the hole in Medellín, and the aircraft departed the following morning on its scheduled return flight to Miami with passengers on board. Azul S.A. has emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection after completing a court-supervised restructuring that reduced its debt and lease obligations by approximately $2.5 billion and brought in $850 million in new equity investment. The Brazilian carrier said its Plan of Reorganization became effective on February 25, 2026, after a US bankruptcy court affirmed it in December 2025. Azul entered Chapter 11 in 2025 and completed the process in less than nine months. As part of the restructuring, Azul secured $850 million in new equity financing, including $100 million from United Airlines. Etihad Airways has announced it will begin operating its Airbus A380 aircraft on the Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH)-Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) route, starting October 25, 2026. This marks the first time the carrier’s flagship aircraft will serve the Thai capital.
