GA-ASI and the U.S. Air Force tested the MQ-9A Reaper with APKWS laser-guided rockets, firing at both air and ground targets at the Nevada Test and Training Range. General Atomics Aeronautical Systems has announced a test in collaboration with the U.S. Air Force which saw the MQ-9A Reaper Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) employing Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS) laser-guided rockets. The company said the testing took place recently at the Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR). Lufthansa Group has ordered 20 additional long-haul aircraft from Airbus and Boeing as it continues the largest fleet modernization program in its history. The order includes 10 Airbus A350-900s and 10 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, the German airline group announced on May 11, 2026. Lufthansa valued the deal at $7.7 billion at list prices. Deliveries are scheduled between 2032 and 2034. The aircraft will replace older, less efficient long-haul jets across the group, though Lufthansa said it has not yet decided which airlines or hubs will receive the new aircraft. The Royal Air Force (RAF) has conducted a long-range parachute drop over the island of Tristan da Cunha, an isolated British Overseas Territory in the middle of the South Atlantic Ocean.  On May 9, 2026, a RAF A400M aircraft dropped six paratroopers and two military medics from the 16 Air Assault Brigade of the Parachute Regiment, on the remote British outpost in order to provide medical assistance to a suspected Hantavirus patient.  Since Tristan da Cunha does not have an airport (the rugged volcanic island has almost no flat terrain), the parachute drop was the fastest way to deliver the…

Air France-KLM is reportedly considering a rebrand, according to rumors that have been circulating online in industry circles.  According to this information, the airline group may change its name to “The Blue Group”, in a direct reference to the color palette that dominates the identity of its different airlines’ brands: Air France, KLM and Scandinavian Airlines-SAS (As of May 2026, Air France-KLM only owns 19.9% of SAS, but the group has already announced its intention to acquire a majority stake in the near future).  The new brand would also give Air France-KLM a more neutral name as it could expand…
