United Flight 1980 departed from San Francisco International Airport and flew roughly 90 minutes before landing at San Diego International. But as the Boeing 737 approached the airport in San Diego, the pilot reported to the tower that the plane had possibly hit a drone while flying at about 3,000 feet. OK… here we go again. Transportation Secretary Duffy floated the idea of charging a fee to help the FAA modernize its air traffic control system and pay for upgrades on a more regular basis, according to Bloomberg. “I would welcome an opportunity to think through, how could we have a small fee that went into allowing us to continually upgrade our systems,” Duffy said. The UK-wide tour of an iconic WW2 Spitfire is underway, marking the 90th anniversary of the legendary aircraft’s first flight in 1936. The aircraft is making nine flights around the UK as part of the commemorations to mark the milestone. Aircraft from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) are to take part in a commemorative tour honoring the iconic Supermarine Spitfire.
