Fort Worth-based 
American Airlines is aiming to be the airline of choice this bowl season, with the Oneworld alliance member adding additional flights to ferry fans to and from games across the country. Flights are on sale already, and additional frequencies are scheduled to Dallas/Fort Worth, Miami, Los Angeles, and New Orleans.
The airline is boasting that it will offer more flights for fans to support their favourite teams with increased capacity on key routes across the country. These are scheduled for travel between December 31 and January 3, aligned with quarterfinal game days.
More Choice This Bowl Season
America is full of college football supporters, the country has deep community ties to its local teams, and this creates a unique spectacle and year-round media hype for college football teams. American Airlines is looking to reap the rewards of this demand, with additional flights added to their schedule around key matches, these include Ohio State and Miami fans seeing additional flights to 
Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), Texas Tech and Oregon Fans receiving additional non-stop options to 
Miami International Airport (MIA), Indiana and Alabama fans can be shuttled directly to 
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), and Georgia supporters can fly non-stop to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY).

Adding additional flights makes perfect sense for American Airlines in the lead-up to these key matches this bowl season, and sees the airline follow suit with several other key US carriers doing the same. No.4 Texas Tech vs No.5 Oregon (Miami, Florida): Special flights non-stop from Lubbock (LBB) to Miami for December 30 and 31, non-stop flights from Eugene (EUG) and Portland (PDX) to Miami for December 31. Return flights include non-stop services to Lubbock on January 2 and 3. Oregon fans can also fly non-stop to Eugene and Portland on January 2.
No. 1 Indiana vs No.9 Alabama (Pasadena, California): Two flights from Indianapolis (IND) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) are scheduled for December 28, 29, and 31, while Alabama fans fly on special flights from Birmingham (BHM) for December 31. Return services include three flights to Indianapolis on January 2 and two flights on January 3. Birmingham-bound flights return on January 2.
No.3 Georgia vs. No.6 Ole Miss (New Orleans, Louisiana): Georgia fans are treated to special flights from Atlanta (ATL) to New Orleans (MSY) on December 31, with a return service scheduled for January 2.

American Airlines isn’t the only airline looking to cash in on additional services to and from these college football quarter-finals, with the likes of 
Delta Air Lines also adding additional services.
All airlines are gearing up to offer more flights throughout their networks to ensure college football fans are able to make the pilgrimage to cheer on their favourite teams.
Those caught onboard a flight during these crucial matches may be lucky enough to capture the game live onboard, with the likes of Delta offering live satellite TV from their seatback. This is available only on flights with Delta Sync Wi-Fi and while traveling over the continental United States.
