Also: Velocitor X-1, NASA Fights Errant Press, Nigerian UAS, Dallas Police China has adopted new rules for its Civil Aviation Law, bringing uncrewed aircraft such as drones under the national legal framework for the first time, according to reports. This is the first formal regulation of unmanned aircraft by China. These new rules, which could take effect July 1, 2026, may signal state support for the country’s rapidly growing low-altitude economy. Starlink Moving 4,000+ Satellites to Lower Orbit. The satellites will be lowered from 342 miles to about 298 miles, putting them in a portion of Earth’s orbit with less space debris and fewer planned satellite constellations. Nicolls said the lowering of the satellites’ “shell” is being “tightly coordinated” with USSPACECOM, regulators, and other orbital operators to prevent traffic conflicts during the descent. The Draco thrusters of the SpaceX Dragon cargo spacecraft were seen firing during a demonstration of its ability to reboost the International Space Station’s orbit.
