The restoration is taking place in a Salem aircraft hangar, where the B-17 Alliance is working on the Lacey Lady. The bomber was a fixture on McLoughlin Boulevard in Milwaukee for 67 years. Scott’s husband’s grandfather, Art Lacey, purchased the B-17 in 1947. It was a surplus plane left over following World War II. Wisk Aero has announced the successful first flight of its second Generation 6 aircraft. It is a milestone for Wisk’s flight-test program and scale, coming shortly after the first Gen 6 aircraft started its flight-test campaign in mid-December. Conducted at Wisk’s flight-test facility in Hollister, Calif., the flight included vertical takeoff, hover, and chirp maneuvers… All this — and MORE in today’s episode of Airborne-Unlimited!!!
