Also: AviationStart, Enstrom MX Classes, GE Aerospace Deal, Mounting T-7A Costs The two newest AOPA board members addressed the issue of the dismissal of former AOPA President and CEO Darren Pleasance at an overflow pilot town hall meeting at the Buckeye Air Fair, Saturday. Many members said they were upset and angry about the termination and wanted to know why. Charlie Lynch and Dale Klapmeier, presented as the two newest board members, opened their portion of the town hall with their backgrounds as pilots and then took questions. Dale Klapmeier said Pleasance did… “not have what it takes to run an organization like this. NAA has announced the finalists for the 2025 Robert J. Collier Trophy, recognizing the greatest achievements in American aeronautics and astronautics from the past year. A UK drone operator has been hit with 17 convictions after repeatedly flying over an active industrial fire and inside restricted airport airspace, giving him the unfortunate title of Britain’s first (but, at this rate, not last) drone pilot to be charged for interference with emergency response. The lucky jailbird is 46-year-old Christopher McEwen. All this — and MORE in today’s episode of Airborne-Unlimited!!!
