The AOPA Board of Trustees initially claimed that it would be searching for a new leader after current president and CEO Darren Pleasance, who has been with the organization a little over a year, ‘transitions’ IMMEDIATELY to an ‘advisory’ role. Navy Captain E. Royce Williams (Ret.) will receive the Congressional Medal of Honor for his exceptional valor and heroism during the Korean War. Congressman Darrell Issa said President Donald Trump had informed Williams he will receive the award. “My friend, constituent, and hero Royce Williams is 100 years young, a Top Gun pilot like no other, and an American hero for all time,” Issa said. Plans to redevelop the Indianapolis Downtown Heliport are on hold after Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita asked federal officials to reconsider their approval of the facility’s anticipated sale to the city.
