“Students spend a lot of time waiting … waiting for airplanes, waiting for instructors, waiting for availability. We’re looking at how to make that process more streamlined—more standardized—so students can move through training more efficiently. If you can improve utilization of the aircraft and instructors, you can train more pilots with the same resources. Technology plays a role in that—whether it’s scheduling, curriculum, or how training is delivered.” Source: Adriana Barragán, founder of Fly ORCA, addressed the 2026 Innovation Preview at SUN ’n FUN with a number of statements that pertained to issues affecting the training community.
