A new Egyptian airline with an all-Airbus fleet is expected to launch this year with the carrier set to link Europe with the country’s tourist hotspots like Sharm El Sheikh.

Egypt’s tourism giant Travco Group plans to start operations in November 2026, with an initial fleet of three to four aircraft, highlighting the country’s flourishing tourist sector.

According to local media, Travco Group is looking to increase the fleet to 10 aircraft in the first year with ambitions for as many as 20 aircraft within five years.

Travco Chairman Hamed El Chiaty recently spoke to media representatives and advised that the airline will mainly operate charter flights linking Egypt with Europe and other markets.

Scheduled routes will support connecting countries with popular Egyptian destinations such as such as Sharm El Sheikh, Marsa Alam, and Matrou.

Travco Group plans to operate an all-Airbus fleet using aircraft with capacity for between 180 and 220 passengers.

Egyptian Tourism and Antiquities Minister Sherif Fathy, said that the country welcomed 5.6 million tourists during the first quarter of 2026, a 43.5% increase on 2025.

El Chiaty admitted that the current geo-political challenges and fuel shortage concerns could impact its launch timeline.

The company is in the process of obtaining regulatory approval and securing airline certification. The process is expected to take between 80 and 90 days.

Egypt’s current airlines include the national flag carrier EgyptAir, Air Cairo, Nile Air, flyEgypt, and Red Sea Airlines.
