The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has certified the Mammoth Freighters 777-200LRMF (Long Range Mammoth Freighter) clearing the converted aircraft for commercial service.

On April 8, 2026, Mammoth Freighters said FAA Supplemental Type Certification (STC) of the 777-200LRMF’s design, engineering, and performance marked a “major milestone” for its widebody freighter conversion program.

“This certification reflects years of disciplined engineering, close collaboration with the FAA, and the dedication of our entire team and partners,” said Bill Tarpley, CEO of Mammoth Freighters. “Approval of the 777-200LRMF underscores the strength of our technical approach and our ability to deliver a high-performance freighter that meets the evolving demands of cargo operators worldwide.”

Lessor Jetran was previously announced as the 777-200LRMF’s first customer with Qatar Airways Cargo penned as the launch operator. DHL and Ethiopian Airlines have also been named by Jetran as future operators.

“As the launch customer for the 777-200LRMF, this milestone marks an important moment for both Mammoth Freighters and Jetran,” said Jordan Jaffe, CEO, Jetran. “From the outset, we have had strong confidence in the Mammoth engineering team and their vision for the program. The aircraft’s quality and technical execution have met our high expectations and reflect the strength of the underlying design.”

Key features of the 777-200LRMF include the largest main-deck cargo door in its class and a reinforced floor structure.

The Mammoth 777-200LRMF features the advanced Collins Aerospace cargo loading system, specifically optimized for the 777 passenger-to-freighter market.

With certification now complete, Mammoth is positioned to begin aircraft deliveries and entry into service while work continues on the 777-300ERMF program with Mammoth expecting FAA certification later this year.
