Wizz Air expands Luton network after acquiring TUI slots, launches more routes

Wizz Air announced has announced the expansion of its operations at London-Luton Airport (LTN) in 2026.

The pan-European low-cost airline will be basing an additional Airbus A321neo aircraft at Luton, from where it will launch six new routes during the 2026 summer season.

The new nonstop services, which have just been announced, will start on June 12-13, 2026, linking the UK airport twice weekly to the Armenian capital, Yerevan (EVN), and the Greek island of Corfu (CFU), thrice weekly to Lyon (LYS) and Turin TRN) and four and five time per week, respectively, to Faro (FAO), Portugal, and Alicante (ALC), Spain.

This expansion has been facilitated by Wizz Air’s recently completed acquisition of some of the Luton airport slots held by TUI Airways.

Wizz Air is continuing to adjust its capacity to Western European markets following the reduction of its presence in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the decision to defer the delivery of part of its outstanding A320neo family aircraft orders.

Earlier in 2025, Wizz Air had already announced an increase in its presence at London-Luton Airport, with the addition of services to five Spanish destinations: Barcelona (BCN), Madrid (MAD), Bilbao (BIO), Valencia (VLC) and Seville (SVQ).

Wizz Air has also confirmed plans to expand its footprint in Israel, with the establishment of new bases at Ben Gurion (TLV) and Ramon Airport (ETM) airports.
