On December 17, 2025, advanced air mobility developer AIR unveiled the first production unit of its electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, the AIR ONE.

This enhanced version of its uncrewed cargo eVTOL features optimized battery integration and a larger cargo bay, as well as foldable wings and motor arms for more compact storage and ease of transportation.

Range and efficiently have also been improved by refining the aerodynamics of the airframe, which has been produced in collaboration with automotive engineering firm EDAG. The flight control system has also been updated for increased stability, responsiveness, and redundancy.

This first production aircraft is set to take off shortly on its maiden flight in southern Israel. The next units will be sent to the United States where they will be used in further flight demonstrations and will support the company’s certification efforts with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

AIR

AIR has been conducting flight tests in the US since it was granted an experimental airworthiness certificate from the FAA. It was during one of these flights that an uncrewed AIR ONE prototype crashed in Indiantown, Florida on October 23, 2025.

This production airframe is for the cargo version of the AIR ONE, which is capable of carrying a 550 lb. (249.9 kg) payload and conduct uncrewed operations beyond the visual line of sight (BVLOS). However, AIR is also working on obtaining a light sports aircraft (LSA) certification for the two-seater crewed version of the aircraft.

In July 2025, AIR also announced both the closure of a US$23 million Series A funding round and the creation of a new 32,000 square meter development and manufacturing center in central Israel.
