Airbus needs near-record month in December to hit 2025 delivery target

Airbus will need to pull out all the stops if it is to meet its revised annual aircraft delivery target, having confirmed that 42 customers received a total of 72 planes in November 2025.

On December 3, 2025, Airbus announced that its annual target of “around 820” deliveries had been cut to 790, citing a “recent supplier quality issue on fuselage panels impacting its A320 Family delivery flow”.

With the European manufacturer confirming on December 5, 2025, that 72 aircraft were delivered in November 2025, the grand total for the year now stands at 657 – requiring 133 more deliveries to hit the yearly goal.

In December 2019, Airbus handed over 138 commercial aircraft to its customers, its highest monthly total ever. In December 2024, the company delivered 123 planes.

Airbus’ recently revised target would still outperform previous years, with 766 commercial aircraft delivered in 2024 and 735 in 2023. However, the figures remain a far cry from the pre-pandemic era, with Airbus delivering 863 aircraft in 2019.

The December 2025 discovery of a fuselage panel flaw requiring inspections on hundreds of jets, including over 240 in the Airbus assembly line, effectively ended any hopes of reaching 820 deliveries.

However, it remains questionable whether Airbus would have reached the 2025 target after ending October 2025 on only 585 deliveries.

Orders in November 2025

The latest delivery and order stats from Airbus indicate that it received 75 gross orders in November 2025.

An undisclosed customer purchased eight Airbus A350-1000s and two A320neos, while another mystery buyer ordered 13 Airbus A320neo and seven A321neos.

There were also orders from IndiGo, Etihad Airways, Air China Cargo and Silk Way West Airlines. Not all orders from last month’s Dubai Airshow were logged.
