Ethiopian Airlines has acquired more Airbus A350 widebodies for its fleet at Dubai Airshow, in addition to the six ordered directly with Airbus on Day Two of the event.

On November 21, 2025, Dubai-based lessor Novus Aviation Capital announced that an agreement had been formalized to place two Airbus A350-900 aircraft with Africa’s largest carrier.

According to Novus Aviation Capital, the lease transaction was cemented during a signing ceremony at the Airbus Chalet during this year’s Dubai Airshow.

Mounir Kuzbari, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Novus Aviation Capital, said: “Ethiopian Airlines has long been a key customer for Novus, and we are proud to continue working with the airline as it expands its fleet with additional A350 aircraft.”

He added: “This collaboration highlights our ability to source capacity that meets the evolving needs of our airline customers.”

Ethiopian Airlines has been incredibly busy in Dubai, securing orders for multiple aircraft with both Boeing and Airbus.

As well as an order with Airbus for six A350-900s, Ethiopian Airlines also purchased 11 Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets from Boeing.

Additionally, ATR announced that Ethiopian Airlines will lease two brand new ATR 72-600 aircraft to Congo’s national carrier Air Congo, in which Ethiopian holds a 49% stake.

Finally, on November 18, 2025, Ethiopian Airlines signed an agreement with Collins Aerospace to provide premium lie-flat business class seating solutions across 11 Airbus A350s, 56 Boeing 737 MAX and the airline’s recently announced 777-9 order.
