VistaJet promises private jet flyers their best night’s sleep at 40,000 feet

Business aviation operator VistaJet promises to give private jet flyers their best night’s sleep at 40,000 feet after unveiling its new science-based sleep program.

On November 12, 2025, the company laid out plans for the VistaJet Sleep program, incorporating evidence-based circadian management, light control and nutrition protocols during flights.

VistaJet said it was reacting to a “notable increase in long-haul travel” with over 58% of its flights crossing multiple time zones and thousands operating overnight this year alone.

The program applies scientific principles of recovery, circadian alignment and cognitive performance to provide VistaJet passengers with a restorative sleep.

The company worked with Dr. Peter Attia, a best-selling author and the founder of Early Medical, along with its in-house nutritionists and experienced flight attendants to formalize the program.

“Sleep is a critical component of health, performance, and longevity — yet it is often the first thing disrupted by travel,” said Attia. “What excites me about partnering with VistaJet is the ability to influence this process in flight. By creating an environment where light, rest, and recovery are carefully shaped to support circadian alignment, traveling becomes a restorative experience instead of a disruptive one.”

According to VistaJet, the sleep program will allow flyers to “arrive at their destination feeling refreshed, balanced and ready to perform”. The program also considers family travel and flying with pets.

The ‘Best Rest at 40,000 feet’ program works three-fold: pre-sleep, during sleep and post-sleep.

In the initial stage, cabin hosts “prepare the cabin according to each Member’s preferred rest schedule. Temperature, lighting and sound are adjusted to encourage melatonin release, with sleep-supportive amenities available to ease the transition into rest”.

During sleep, the “cabin is maintained at optimal temperature, while guests rest in true comfort with hypoallergenic bedding. Cabin Hosts monitor the environment to sustain deep, uninterrupted sleep”.

‘For those operating at the highest level, rest is not a pause — it is a performance strategy’

While as the passenger begins to wake up, “lighting is gradually adjusted to simulate natural waking, aiding circadian reset. Hydrating beverages and nutrient-rich meals are prepared to support alertness, focus and physical recovery”.

“For those operating at the highest level, rest is not a pause — it is a performance strategy. Your crew design every element of the journey with precision and purpose, creating the conditions for deep restorative sleep so that you can land refreshed, focused and ready to perform at your peak,” said Gemma-Anne Jones, Head of Cabin Service Innovation at VistaJet.

Under similar principles, the cabin can be prepared for shorter periods of rest or power naps.

According to McKinsey research, two-thirds of global executives are dissatisfied with how much they sleep, and 55% with its quality.

VistaJet hopes that its members, which include leaders and executives to world-class athletes, can benefit from its new approach to sleeping at altitude.

“With a demanding travel schedule, sleep helps to maximize my recovery both physically and mentally so I’m sharp, focused and ready to strive for the best results,” said Charles Leclerc, Formula One racing driver and VistaJet ambassador.
