Etihad hits record 300 daily flights as network and fleet expansion accelerate

Etihad Airways has revealed that it is now operating 300 scheduled passenger flights each day, driven by “strong global demand and sustained momentum” in its network expansion.

In a statement published on October 20, 2025, Etihad referred to this growth as a “new milestone”, stating that it represents its “strongest performance to date” and makes the carrier among the “fastest-growing full-service airlines globally”.

“Year-on-year growth across all key metrics reflects the strength of our network and Abu Dhabi’s growing position as a global aviation hub,” said Captain Majed Al Marzouqi, Chief Operations and Guest Officer at Etihad Airways. “Our progress is efficient, sustainable and purposeful, driven by the dedication of our people and the continued trust of our guests.”

The 300 daily flights milestone comes after what the airline describes as one of its most ambitious expansion years. In September 2025, the airline’s network capacity increased by 25% compared to the previous year.

This follows the airline’s introduction of 31 new destinations in 2025, including Medan in Sumatra, Phnom Penh in Cambodia, Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, and Krabi in Thailand, bringing its global network to nearly 90 destinations.

The carrier also noted that Europe has been a significant growth area, with flights across the continent increasing by 35% in summer 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.

Additionally, Etihad’s operating fleet has expanded to 115 aircraft, up from 96 in September 2024. This growth includes new A350s, 787 Dreamliners, the return of two more A380s, and the airline’s new A321LRs, which have private First Suites and lie-flat Business Class seats that enhance the travel experience on medium-haul routes and set a new standard for premium narrowbody travel.

In September 2025, the airline said it transported 1.9 million passengers, marking a 21% rise compared to the same month last year, while maintaining an 89% passenger load factor. In the first nine months of 2025, Etihad carried 16.1 million passengers, an 18% increase year-on-year.

Etihad stated that its growth has been bolstered by its base at Zayed International Airport (ZIA), which has the capacity to handle 45 million passengers annually and features 65 gates, providing the efficiency and infrastructure necessary to support the airline’s operations.

In September 2025, Etihad reported a 32% rise in profits during the first half of 2025, with total revenue growing by 16% during this period compared to 2024.
