Emirates has reached an agreement with aircraft investor Stratos to purchase a leased Airbus A380-800 at the conclusion of its term in 2027.

The Airbus A380, registered A6-EOO, joined Emirates on lease in September 2015, and to date has completed nearly 5,000 commercial flights for the carrier.

On October 10, 2025, Stratos said that the company would “forward sell its sole-managed A380-800″ to Emirates.

“We are delighted to have worked with Emirates to support their long-term fleet requirements. This transaction reaffirms our ability to continue to support our airline partners and deliver best-in-class asset management services to our institutional partners,” said Cian O’Shea, Marketing Director at Stratos.

The transaction with Emirates was agreed on behalf of a group of Asia-based institutional investors. The long-term lease deal was originally structured by Stratos in 2015.

“This deal underscores Stratos’ expertise in underwriting and managing high-value aviation assets and facilitating complex end-of-lease transactions in collaboration with leading global airlines,” a Stratos spokesperson said.

They added: “The company’s team worked closely with Emirates to ensure a smooth transition, supporting the carrier’s long-term fleet strategy and operational requirements.”

In its current configuration, according to ch-aviation, A6-EOO seats 429 passengers in economy, 76 in business and 14 in first class.

Data from FlightAware states the aircraft last flew on August 19, 2025, on a flight from Milan to Dubai.

According to ch-aviation, Emirates currently has 93 Airbus A380-800s in active service, with 25 marked as inactive.
