About the event

We are pleased to announce the World Overflight Risk Conference (WORC) 2026, organised by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) together with Osprey Flight Solutions, the University of Southampton, and Transport Malta.

Taking place on 20–22 April 2026 in St. Julian’s, Malta, WORC 2026 will once again unite the global aviation community, providing a dedicated platform to collectively address and navigate the evolving challenges posed by overflight risk in an increasingly complex geopolitical environment.

Building on the success of the previous edition, the conference brings together regulators, operators, insurers and industry experts to exchange strategic insights, operational experience and practical solutions for managing conflict-zone airspace risks.

Why attend?

WORC 2026 is an educational and non-political event tailored to aviation organisations, operators, regulators and insurers – essential stakeholders in strengthening the global approach to overflight risk management.

The conference ensures broad representation across sectors, enabling comprehensive and inclusive discussions that reflect operational, regulatory and strategic perspectives.

By the end of WORC 2026, participants will have:

  • Enhanced their understanding of current overflight risk trends and emerging threats
  • Explored practical tools and methodologies to strengthen internal risk assessments
  • Discussed regulatory expectations and oversight approaches
  • Gained insights to support proactive and informed operational decision-making

With over 250 expected participants, the event offers valuable opportunities for high-level networking and cross-sector collaboration.

Non-profit orientation

WORC 2026 is organised on a non-profit basis. The conference honours the victims of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752, and Azerbaijan Airlines Flight 8243.

All profits will be directed towards the respective victims’ associations, underlining our shared commitment to a safer global aviation system.

Key themes

  • Strategic intelligence and insights into overflight risk management
  • Strengthening collaboration between regulators, operators and insurers
  • Addressing challenges related to operations in and around conflict zones
  • Advanced tools, methodologies and governance frameworks for risk assessment
  • Escalation and de-escalation indicators in dynamic threat environments

We look forward to welcoming the global aviation community to Malta for three days of meaningful dialogue and collective progress in overflight risk management.

Accessibility for All

At EASA, we are committed to ensuring that all guests and visitors feel welcome.
Our facilities are equipped to accommodate individuals with reduced mobility, and our facilities team is ready to provide assistance wherever possible to ensure a smooth and comfortable visit.
