Transfer Citi ThankYou Points To Virgin Atlantic Flying Club With 30% Bonus

In the interest of full disclosure, OMAAT earns a referral bonus for anyone that’s approved through some of the below links. Citi is an advertising partner of OMAAT. The Citi ThankYou program is on a bit of a transfer bonus spree at the moment. The program has just launched a new transfer bonus to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, in addition to bonuses offered to Avianca Lifemiles, Qatar Airways Privilege Club, and Turkish Miles&Smiles.

Transfer Citi points to Virgin Atlantic with 30% bonus

Between September 21 and October 18, 2025, the Citi ThankYou program in the United States is offering a 30% bonus on points transfers to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club.

Citi ThankYou 30% transfer bonus to Virgin Atlantic

Ordinarily points transfer at a 1:1 ratio (in 1,000 point increments), while through this promotion you’d get 1,300 Flying Club points for every 1,000 Citi ThankYou points transferred.

We see transferable points currencies frequently offer bonuses on transfers to Virgin Atlantic, and we’ve seen such promotions from all major transferable points currencies in the past year.

There are several great cards earning Citi ThankYou points, including the Citi Strata Premier® Card (review) and Citi Strata Elite℠ Card (review), and it’s easy to combine points between the cards.

Should you transfer Citi points to Virgin Atlantic?

Virgin Atlantic is definitely a frequent flyer program with more niche redemption opportunities. In addition to being able to redeem Flying Club points for travel on Virgin Atlantic, there’s also good value to be had for redemptions on Air New Zealand, All Nippon Airways, and Delta.

With Flying Club having recently moved to dynamic award pricing, there are actually better value redemption opportunities on Virgin Atlantic than ever before. For example, you can book Upper Class across the Atlantic starting at just 29,000 points one-way, and that doesn’t even factor in the transfer bonuses. I consider this to be one of the best award sweet spots out there.

Beyond that, Virgin Atlantic has several airline partners, some of which are more lucrative than others. See my guide to the best uses of Virgin Atlantic Flying Club points.

This is an offer I might consider speculatively taking advantage of, except for the fact that I transferred some Amex points to Virgin Atlantic with a 40% bonus earlier in the year, so I have a sufficient number of Flying Club points for now.

For what it’s worth, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club points don’t expire, with no activity required to keep them alive.

All Nippon Airways’ first class

Bottom line

Through October 18, 2025, the Citi ThankYou program is offering a 30% bonus on points transfers to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club. This is definitely more of a niche program, but with a specific use in mind, there’s a lot of value to be had.

With the 30% bonus, you can potentially get some incredible redemption values for travel on Virgin Atlantic, including in Upper Class. There’s also significant value to be had if redeeming on partners, whether it’s on a SkyTeam partner, or on one of Virgin Atlantic’s non-SkyTeam partner airlines.

Do you plan on taking advantage of this Citi transfer bonus to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club?
