Textron Aviation adds Elon Musk’s Starlink internet to Citation Latitude jets

Textron Aviation is to offer Elon Musk’s Starlink internet service as a new connectivity option on its Cessna Citation Latitude aircraft, further broadening Wi-Fi connectivity across its midsize jets.

The announcement comes after the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved AeroMech’s Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for Starlink’s high-speed internet service, the company confirmed in a statement on September 18, 2025.

AeroMech’s STC makes use of Starlink’s network of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites to provide connectivity over land, water and remote areas, where traditional in-flight Wi-Fi may not be available.

“With Starlink connectivity now available as an upgrade, Citation Latitude customers can enjoy a seamless, high-speed in-flight experience that keeps them connected in more of the places they fly,” said Brian Rohloff, Senior Vice President of Customer Support at Textron Aviation. “This enhancement elevates the Latitude’s reputation as the world’s most-delivered midsize business jet.”

Textron said that customers can arrange for the upgrade to be installed at Textron Aviation Service Centers in North America and International Service Centers.

In July 2025, Textron Aviation announced that Starlink was being equipped to its Cessna Citation Sovereign and Sovereign+ aircraft.

Similarly, on September 3, 2025, Gulfstream Aerospace confirmed that a G650ER at the company’s Fort Worth Alliance Service Center in Texas became the 100th aircraft to be fitted with Elon Musk’s internet service.

However, Starlink service has experienced occasional disruptions recently. A global outage on September 15, 2025, impacted users all over the world, including those on the Ukrainian front lines, with more than 43,000 reports of connectivity issues in North America, Europe and Asia.

An earlier outage on July 24, 2025, left customers, including major airlines, offline for around two and a half hours due to an internal issue.
