Riyadh Air has provided a first look at its debut premium lounge which will be located between Terminal 1 and 2 at King Khalid International Airport (RUH), Saudi Arabia.

On October 7, 2025, Riyadh Air announced that the nearly 2,000-square-meter Hafawa Lounge had officially opened and would be available to the airline’s ‘Business Elite’ and business class travelers.

Designed to accommodate around 370 seated guests, the lounge has been divided into themed zones to cater for individual needs.

These include areas designed for rest and relaxation, social spaces, fine dining/casual eating, private and family rooms and immersive digital experiences.

“Designed to redefine premium hospitality, this inspiring space seamlessly blends innovation and Saudi tradition to create the future of air travel experience. “Hafawa” an Arabic word embodying warmth and hospitality, perfectly reflects Riyadh Air’s commitment to delivering a world-class guest experience at every touchpoint,” said a spokesperson for Riyadh Air.

The lounge was designed by Yabu Pushelberg and “draws inspiration from the desert landscape, where the earth meets the sky”.

“Wind-shaped, organic forms evoke a sense of dynamic movement and boundless possibility, crafting spaces that are simultaneously monumental and intimately inviting,” the spokesperson added.

The ‘Executive Dining’ area provides an à la carte experience, with both private dining and executive areas overlooking a garden area, designed to create a “calming, nature-inspired setting”.

At ‘The Café’, travelers can order freshly brewed coffee prepared by expert baristas, accompanied by a selection of artisanal pastries and light bites from the in-house bakery.

The ‘Social Lounge’ serves as a “tranquil retreat for relaxed conversation” while the ‘Beverage Corner’ crafts premium non-alcoholic refreshments.

“For Riyadh Air guests traveling in Business and Business Elite cabins, the Lounge transcends a mere waiting area – it signifies the beginning of their journey. Every detail has been thoughtfully designed to inspire, connect, and elevate, thereby setting an unprecedented benchmark for the future of air travel hospitality,” said the airline’s spokesperson.

Riyadh Air is approaching its expected public launch and first commercial flights before the end of the year.
