Qatar Airways has expanded its African network by forming a new codeshare partnership with Air Algérie, creating new routes from Algeria to important destinations in Asia and the Middle East through Hamad International Airport (DOH).

From November 3, 2025, travelers can book codeshare flights starting on November 15, 2025, the airline announced in a statement.

The codeshare provides Qatar Airways passengers with easier access to Algiers and six other significant destinations in Air Algérie’s domestic network, such as Annaba, Constantine, Oran, Tamanrasset, Timimoun, and Tindouf.

Similarly, Air Algérie will offer more travel options for its passengers traveling to Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, and Muscat via Hamad International Airport. This codeshare agreement is expected to be expanded soon to include more destinations.

“We are delighted to expand our partnership with Air Algérie through this new codeshare agreement,” said Thierry Antinori, the Chief Commercial Officer of Qatar Airways. “This collaboration will offer travelers greater choice and seamless connectivity to the Middle East, and Asia.”

According to Samy El Karim Boutemadja, Air Algérie Head of Commercial Division, this agreement supports Air Algérie’s global strategy to grow its network and connections through its hub in Algiers.

“This codeshare agreement with Qatar Airways will certainly give Air Algérie the opportunity to enhance the company’s positioning in the Middle East and in Asia, by offering its customers larger possibilities to reach new destinations, as well as promoting travelling to Algeria,” Boutemadja said.

Qatar Airways currently flies to over 170 destinations worldwide and has 30 interline and six codeshare agreements with airlines throughout Africa, operating 213 weekly flights to 30 cities in 21 African countries.

Meanwhile, Air Algérie serves more than 80 destinations on both regular and charter flights and currently runs an average of 300 flights daily. So far, the airline has developed a network of more than 200 routes.
