LOT Polish Airlines has announced an expansion to its presence in North America by launching a new route between Warsaw and San Francisco in May 2026. The United States remains one of LOT’s key long-haul markets, with growing potential for both business and leisure travel, says the carrier.

The first flight on the Warsaw to San Francisco route will be inaugurated by LOT Polish Airlines on May 6, 2026. The company will operate four weekly services, scheduled to operate throughout the summer of 2026 with flights operating from Warsaw on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Flight LO035 to San Francisco (SFO) will take off from Warsaw (WAW) on Thursdays and Sundays at 11:15, while flight LO037 will take off on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 17:40. Passengers will travel to Warsaw on the same days, but on board flight LO036 at 15:50 and LO038 at 22:1, respectively.

The 5,867-mile (9,387km) route is expected to take around 11 hours and 30 minutes to complete the westbound flight, with the eastbound leg taking around an hour less. All flights are to be operated by LOT’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet. The carrier has eight 787-8s and seven 787-9s in its fleet, which seat 252 and 294 passengers, respectively.

Transatlantic flights are of strategic importance for LOT Polish Airlines. In the past 12 months, 800,000 passengers travelled on all LOT flights between Poland and the United States. Not only will the new route connect the heart of Europe with the global hub for technology and innovation, but it will also open up new opportunities for both business travellers and tourists.

San Francisco, along with neighbouring Silicon Valley, is the cradle of numerous global brands and a location that consistently attracts entrepreneurs and investors from around the world, said Robert Ludera, Registered Representative and Director of the Network Department at LOT Polish Airlines.

“It is also a city of exceptional charm, rich in culture, history, and a unique vibe, which has enjoyed unflagging popularity among tourists for years. We are delighted to expand our offer with a successive direct flight to the West Coast of the United States and invite passengers to join us on our flights,” he added.

“San Francisco is one of the most recognisable and fascinating cities in the world – a symbol of openness, innovation, and the Californian lifestyle,” said a company statement. “Scenically nestled along San Francisco Bay, with the majestic Golden Gate Bridge in the background, it delights with its diversity of landscape, culture, and people.”

San Francisco joins Chicago, New York, Newark, Miami, and Los Angeles as the fifth US city available in the national carrier’s regular flight network.
