Korean Air signs agreement with Condor to restore Korea-Germany connectivity

Korean Air announced it has teamed up with German carrier Condor Airlines to form a partnership aimed at making travel between Korea and Germany easier. This move follows after more than a decade without integrated domestic connections within Germany, the airline said.

Starting November 1, 2025, passengers flying Korean Air between Seoul’s Incheon Airport (ICN) and Frankfurt Airport (FRA) will be able to connect smoothly to other German cities through Condor’s domestic network.

This is Korean Air’s first agreement in over 10 years that allows travelers to book through-tickets with baggage checked all the way to destinations within Germany.

The partnership has launched with connections from Frankfurt to three major German cities: Berlin, Hamburg, and Munich. Korean Air said that, along with Condor, it  plans to add more destinations when the summer flight schedule kicks in.

The arrangement works through what’s called a Special Prorate Agreement (SPA), which essentially allows the two airlines to sell tickets together and coordinate baggage handling.

For passengers, it means booking one ticket instead of two separate ones and not having to collect and recheck luggage in Frankfurt Airport.

The partnership addresses a connectivity gap that’s existed for years. Previously, Korean travelers heading to Germany beyond Frankfurt had to book separate tickets on German domestic carriers or find alternative connections.

With Condor operating frequent domestic flights from its Frankfurt hub, Korean Air passengers now have a straightforward path to reach business centers, tourist destinations, and family connections throughout Germany without the headache of coordinating separate bookings.

The move reflects Korean Air’s broader strategy to rebuild and expand its European network as international travel continues recovering and growing beyond pre-pandemic levels.
