Innovative Solutions & Support has rebranded as Innovative Aerosystems, marking a new chapter for the Pennsylvania-based avionics manufacturer as it shifts its focus toward smarter, more integrated avionics systems.
The company formally announced the name change on October 14, 2025, coinciding with the opening of the NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition in Las Vegas. The new name, website, and brand identity highlight what CEO Shahram Askarpour described as the company’s next stage of growth — one centered on combining advanced avionics with smart, adaptable system architectures.
“Innovation has always been the driving force behind everything we do,” Askarpour said. “Our new name reflects the company’s expanded vision and future direction: integrating intelligent system design with advanced avionics to deliver innovative solutions that elevate performance, enhance safety, and streamline operations.”
Founded in 1988, the Exton, Pennsylvania-based company began as Innovative Solutions & Support, better known simply as IS&S, focusing on air-data systems and flight displays for business and commercial aircraft. Over the decades, it expanded into flight management, autothrottle, and integrated avionics systems used in thousands of aircraft worldwide.
Under its new banner, Innovative Aerosystems will continue to serve commercial, business, and military aviation markets. The company has built a strong reputation over more than 35 years for its air data systems, cockpit displays, and specialized avionics products.
The first new product to launch under the Innovative Aerosystems name is the Liberty Flight Deck, an open-architecture avionics suite designed for a wide range of aircraft types. Liberty features the company’s patented Utility Management System, large-format touch displays, dual flight management systems, synthetic vision, autothrottle, and mission integration capabilities.
According to the company, Liberty’s architecture allows operators and manufacturers to integrate new functions without being tied to proprietary systems. The platform is intended to reduce costs and simplify certification, while giving customers flexibility to adapt to future requirements.
“Liberty represents the convergence of innovation and practicality,” Askarpour said. “It’s built for tomorrow’s missions across commercial, business, and defense aviation — free from proprietary limitations and supplier lock-down.”
Despite the new name, Innovative Aerosystems said its core mission and values remain unchanged.
“Customers can continue to rely on our trusted team, proven product lines, and world-class support that have long defined our reputation,” Askarpour said. “From legacy fleets to next-generation aircraft, our technologies will continue powering progress across the industry.”
Headquartered in Exton, Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia, Innovative Aerosystems develops avionics for both OEM and retrofit applications. Its systems are used in a range of fixed-wing and rotary aircraft, serving both civil and defense customers. The company’s expertise spans air data instrumentation, flight control computers, mission computers, autothrottles, and situational awareness tools.
The transition to the new brand is designed to position the company for future growth as the avionics industry moves toward more integrated, software-driven flight systems. In its statement, Innovative Aerosystems said it intends to leverage its experience and certification record to develop next-generation flight decks and mission solutions that align with the evolving demands of aircraft manufacturers and operators.
Askarpour emphasized that while the company’s identity is changing, its long-standing commitment to safety, reliability, and customer support remains central. “This is about building on our foundation,” he said. “We’re combining the innovation that got us here with the integration that will define where we’re going.”
The rebrand and product launch come at a time when avionics manufacturers are investing heavily in automation, connectivity, and open-system design. With Liberty, Innovative Aerosystems is signaling its intention to compete in a market increasingly focused on flexibility and long-term upgrade paths rather than closed, proprietary platforms.
Innovative Aerosystems emphasized it will continue to support all existing IS&S products and customers as it transitions to its new identity.
