IndiGo confirms launch date for new Mumbai to Copenhagen service

The European expansion of IndiGo continues to proceed apace. Less than 24 hours after unveiling Athens as the first European city to be served by its new Airbus A321XLR aircraft, the Indian low-cost carrier announced yet another destination in Europe.

Also on September 16, 2025, IndiGo confirmed its new thrice weekly service linking Mumbai (BOM) to Copenhagen (CPH) will be launched on October 8, 2025.

Earlier in 2025, the Danish capital was named as one of the first destinations the Indian carrier was considering for its first batch of European services.

However, unlike Athens, IndiGo will not have to wait for the arrival of its new A321XLR aircraft to launch its new Danish route. The service will be operated by one of the Boeing 787-9 aircraft it has leased from Norse Atlantic Airways.

Copenhagen will become IndiGo’s 44th international destination and its 138th overall. From June 2, 2026, IndiGo will compete on this route with Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), which will launch its own five-weekly nonstop Copenhagen-Mumbai service using Airbus A330 aircraft. SAS offers a total of 262 seats onboard its A330-300 aircraft (32 in business, 56 in SAS Plus and 174 in economy class).
