The UAE-flag carrier Etihad Airways has flown two million passengers in a single month for the first time since launching in 2003.
On September 12, 2025, Etihad announced it had reached a significant milestone in August 2025 by breaking the two million mark.
In August 2024, the airline carried 1.7 million passengers, signaling an increase of 22% for the same month this year.
Etihad also highlighted that its passenger load factor had increased from 89% last August, to 91% this year.
“August was a landmark month for Etihad as we carried more than 2 million passengers in a single month for the first time in our history. This record performance, combined with 22% year-on-year growth and a 91% load factor, reflects the trust travelers place in our people and the extraordinary service they deliver every day,” said Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways.

In a major landmark for Etihad, August 2025 also saw the introduction of its new Airbus A321LR which features first class suites and lie-flat business seats on medium-haul routes.
“The successful introduction of our A321LR in August represents a significant enhancement to our product offering, bringing First Class suites and lie-flat Business seats to medium-haul routes for the first time in the region,” added Neves.
Year-to-date, the airline has carried 14.2 million passengers, representing an 18% increase over the same period in 2024, with an average passenger load factor of 88%.
