Emirates has finalized a major financing agreement with HSBC to support the delivery of six next-generation Airbus A350-900 aircraft, marking another step in its long-term fleet renewal strategy.

In a statement issued on November 2, 2025, the airline confirmed that five of the six aircraft have already been financed through a Japanese Operating Lease with Call Option (JOLCO), with the sixth aircraft currently being finalized. The JOLCO structure provides competitive pricing and flexibility, helping Emirates to continue modernizing its fleet while diversifying its sources of capital.

“Over the last 40 years, HSBC has supported Emirates’ journey from its very first aircraft to its position today as one of the world’s leading airlines. This latest financing demonstrates the strength of that relationship and our shared confidence in the UAE’s aviation sector,” said Mohamed Al Marzooqi, CEO of HSBC Bank Middle East.

Emirates introduced the Airbus A350-900 into its fleet in November 2024. The aircraft plays a key role in the airline’s network development, allowing it to open new point-to-point routes across Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Africa, and efficiently serve long-haul markets that complement its high-capacity Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 operations.

Emirates A350 business class

As of November 2025, Emirates operates 13 Airbus A350-900s, with a total of 65 scheduled for delivery through 2028. The aircraft operate on medium- and long-haul routes and are fitted with a three-class layout, offering 312 seats in total, including 32 in Business Class, 21 in Premium Economy, and 259 in Economy.

The A350 program marks a strategic shift toward more fuel-efficient, long-range aircraft. According to Airbus, the A350 delivers up to 25% lower fuel burn and emissions compared to previous-generation wide-body jets, supporting Emirates’ sustainability and plans.
