The EU Ground Handling safety Regulations are effective since March 2025 and will become applicable as of 27 March 2028.
Between 2025 and 2028, EASA organises a series of webinars aimed at helping the European industry to prepare for the implementation of the new safety rules on ground handling.

What will be discussed:

Enabling the voluntary use of industry standards through the EU Ground Handling Regulations

  1. Regulator perspective: A formal process led by EASA, involving the Member States, to evaluate the industry standards against Regulation (EU) 2025/20
  2. Competent Authority perspective on the use of industry standards
  3. Ground Handling Organisations’ perspective on the use of industry standards

When:

10 March 2026, hrs 12:00 – 14:00 CET

Target audience:

  • Safety, compliance, and operational managers and auditors of ground handling organisations operating at EASA Aerodromes, aircraft operators and aerodrome operators in the scope of Regulation (EU) 2018/1139
  • Inspectors of Competent Authorities of EASA Member States.

Speakers:

  • EASA and GH Inspectors from the Competent Authorities of several EASA Member States
  • Ground Handling Organisations

Time left before the regulations’ applicability date (at 10 March 2026):

  • 107 weeks before 27 March 2028 (full applicability)
  • 1 year and 2 weeks before 27 March 2027 (start submitting the first declarations)
     

Next EASA Ground Handling implementation webinars in 2026 are planned in May, September and December.
