Classic Aero-TV: Mister Mulligan Takes Us Back to Simpler Times

From SnF 2024 (YouTube Edition): Doug Rozendaal Explains The History of The Historic Replica Doug Rozendaal took a moment out of his busy Sun ‘n Fun experience to talk about the charm of Mister Mulligan, his classic Howard DGA-6. Rozendaal’s aircraft isn’t the original one-off, purpose-built race plane, of course, but actually a very convincing replica of the storied aircraft. The design hails back to the golden age of racing, when the 30’s economy wrought havoc on budgets around the globe. The DGA-6 design was meant to show just how far aerodynamics and engines had come at the time, and found quick success in the racing scene. Today, it’s a throwback to a simpler time, when cutting-edge speed was available to even the average PPL if he could afford it. Rozendaal has quit the interesting little aircraft, too, so he walks us through the history, the legend, and the resume of the original DGA-6 and his spot-on recreation.
