Cebu Pacific takes delivery of new A320neo ahead of 30th anniversary

Cebu Pacific (CEB) took delivery of a new Airbus A320neo on March 6, 2026, just two days before the airline marked its 30th anniversary.

The aircraft flew in from Airbus’ facility in Toulouse, France, and is the first of four A320neos expected to join the fleet this year. In total, Cebu Pacific anticipates receiving seven new aircraft in 2026 as it continues strengthening capacity amid sustained travel demand in the Philippines.

“This delivery sets the tone for our 30th year,” said Xander Lao, Cebu Pacific’s President and Chief Commercial Officer. “It reflects our continued investment in growth so more passengers can look forward to accessible and reliable air travel in the years to come.”

The A320neo is Airbus’ latest-generation single-aisle jet, burning roughly 15% less fuel per flight and producing less noise than its predecessor, with a corresponding reduction in carbon emissions. For a carrier that operates across an archipelago of more than 7,600 islands, those efficiency gains add up quickly.

On October 2, 2024, Cebu Pacific signed a landmark purchase agreement with Airbus and Pratt & Whitney for up to 152 A321neo aircraft, equipped with Pratt & Whitney GTF engines. The acquisition is the largest in Philippine aviation history, valued at approximately PHP 1.4 trillion ($24 billion) based on list prices.

Cebu Pacific already flies one of the youngest fleets in the world. Its current lineup of 14 Airbus A330s, 27 A321s, 39 A320s, and 20 ATR turboprops gives it the widest network coverage of any airline in the Philippines, connecting major hubs and smaller communities alike.
