SyberJet Aircraft has selected Williams International’s FJ44-4A to power its next-generation light jet, the SJ36. The companies announced the engine partnership on October 15, 2025, during the NBAA-BACE convention in Las Vegas. Each FJ44-4A will produce 3,621 pounds of thrust, giving the twinjet a combined total of more than 7,200 pounds. With a maximum takeoff weight of 18,500 pounds, the SJ36 achieves a thrust-to-weight ratio of 38.9%, providing strong climb performance, according to the company. United Airlines (NYSE: UAL) announced its third-quarter earnings this afternoon, with headline figures in the print comfortably beating Wall Street expectations. The airline reported diluted earnings per share (EPS) of $2.90 and adjusted EPS of $2.78, both of which fell comfortably within the upper end of the airline’s guidance. Revenues rose 2.6% year-on-year to $15.2 billion, with pre-tax earnings of $1.3 billion and an 8.2% margin. The new Eurofighters, set to be delivered between 2031 and 2034, will replace part of the German Air Force’s Tornados. Germany has signed on Oct. 15, 2025, the contract for the acquisition of 20 new Eurofighters (Germany does not use the name Typhoon) as part of the Tranche 5. Southwest Airlines has taken delivery of its first Boeing 737 MAX 8 with the updated cabin that is being rolled out across the fleet.
