Discover Airlines, a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group specializing in leisure markets, has provided some details of its fleet planning for the coming years.  On October 16, 2026, the German airline stated its plans to grow its fleet to 40 aircraft by mid-2028, including the addition of four Airbus A350-900 aircraft, a new type for the airline.   With the arrival of these aircraft, Discover Airlines will be able to reach additional destinations that are currently out of range of its A330 fleet.  Although not specified in the airline’s statement, it seems likely that these A350-900 aircraft will be assigned…

Soldiers of the 21st Theater Sustainment Command recently undertook two of the Army’s most challenging physical assessments by testing for the Expert Soldier Badge and Expert Field Medical Badge. Abra Group, the parent company of Avianca, GOL and Wamos, announced on October 16, 2025, that it is planning to add up to seven Airbus A330-900neo aircraft to its fleet and firm options for 50 Airbus A320neo aircraft.  These 50 aircraft are additional to the 88 of the same type that the Latin American group has on order, bringing the total to 138 aircraft.   While the A320neos will be assigned to Avianca, the future deployment of the A330neos is not yet clear. On October 3rd, 2025, a Ryanair flight from Pisa to Prestwick had to make an emergency landing at Manchester airport. The jet had attempted to land at its destination several times but high winds prevented this from happening. After attempts at Prestwick and later at Edinburgh, the 737-800 safely landed at Manchester with enough fuel remaining for just a few more minutes of flying. Talk about a close call! source

Southwest Airlines continues to push forward with its comprehensive transformation plan, unveiling two significant initiatives on October 15, 2025, both aimed at enhancing passenger experience and boosting profitability.  For the first time, the low-cost carrier showcased the redesigned cabin interiors for the Boeing 737 MAX fleet.
