Alaska Airlines is expanding its lounge network across its airport hubs. As part of its latest investment, the carrier is planning to develop a new lounge at San Diego International Airport (SAN). Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2027. Once complete, it will mark the third airline lounge at the airport’s Terminal 2. Germany is preparing to award Saab and Northrop Grumman a contract worth around €1.2 billion ($1.3 billion) to upgrade its Eurofighter fleet, Bloomberg reported on September 22, 2025, citing government procurement documents. According to Bloomberg, the contract covers Saab’s Arexis electronic warfare system and Northrop Grumman’s AGM-88E Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missiles (AARGM). Lockheed Martin has unveiled Vectis, a new stealth combat drone from its Skunk Works advanced programs division, designed to fly as an unmanned wingman alongside today’s F-35 and F-22 fighters and future generations of fighter aircraft. In its September 21 announcement, Lockheed described Vectis as a “Group 5, multi-mission system” intended to operate in parallel with US and allied air forces. Archer Aviation has successfully flown its electric vehicle takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft Midnight at its highest ever altitude in preparation for urban flight. On September 22, 2025, US-eVTOL developer Archer announced that Midnight had reached 7,000 feet after taking off from the company’s test facility in Salinas, California. According to Archer, the test pilot “conducted a steady climb after takeoff, leveled off at altitude, then continued to fly for 45 miles in total at speeds in excess of 120 mph”.
