Here’s some good news for Boeing, and airlines, and… maybe the traveling public? I dunno, I guess we’ll see. FAA allows Boeing to issue airworthiness certificates again As of Monday, September 29, 2025, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will once again allow Boeing to issue its own airworthiness certificates for new 737 MAX and 787 aircraft. Eric Trappier, Chairman and CEO of Dassault Aviation, has confirmed that Taiwan is showing clear interest in acquiring the Rafale fighter jet as its fleet of Mirage 2000s nears the end of its operational life. However, he emphasized that any such sale would be a political decision for the French government rather than the manufacturer.  Taiwan procured the Mirage 2000-5s from France in the 1990s. Accidents over time have reduced the initial fleet of 60 aircraft to the current count of 54.  The Republic of China Air Force (ROCAF) has been investing in its 2000-5 fighters to keep them operational.…

Singapore has become the first to classify violent air movements as a major inflight threat, placing them in the same category as midair collisions and unauthorized runway incursions. Generally, pilots and air traffic controllers (ATC) plan routes to avoid bad weather, yet there are times when turbulence is both…

“We had the challenge of taking an airplane that has only flown once and converting it into a versatile autonomous testbed, which demonstrates Scaled’s agility and flexibility in achieving new test objectives. One example was assuring flight safety when engaging the autonomous system and how to effectively integrate protections into the flight controls.” Source: Scaled Composites Project Engineer Yuto Shinagawa, commenting as the Model 437 “Vanguard” has returned to flight testing. Ground Communication Outlet (GCO) An unstaffed, remotely controlled, ground/ground communications facility. If the connection goes to Flight Service, the pilot can open or close a VFR flight plan; obtain an updated weather briefing prior to takeoff; close an IFR flight plan; or, for Alaska or MEDEVAC only, obtain an IFR clearance. Pilots will use four “key clicks” on the VHF radio to contact the appropriate…
