Startup Aero Nusantara Cargo has acquired its first 737-300F and will join eight other 737 Classic freighter operators in Indonesia. Aero Nusantara began proving runs on Nov. 10, flying the 1992-vintage 737-300F (26854, ex-Central Airlines) between Jakarta (CGK) and Palangkaraya, Indonesia (PKY). It hopes to complete the certification flights with the Indonesian Directorate General of […] source
Despite an end to the government shutdown, the flow of air traffic across the United States cannot simply snap back to full capacity. In an update from the the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the volume of flights is expected to be reduced by 6% until conditions improve, as AP News reported. The ongoing disruption to Air Service could not come at a worse time, with the holidays right around the corner. In small consolation, that number is less than the expected 10% that was projected prior to the compromise of congressional Republican and Democratic Representatives, which “reopened” the FAA. Jump…
Atlas Air Worldwide subsidiary Titan Aviation Leasing has removed two 737-800SFs and exited the 737NG market for now as it focuses on the widebody segment. The 2001-vintage unit 28642 and the 2002-vintage unit 30646, which Singapore-based ST Engineering has purchased from Titan with leases attached, were the only two 737NGs in Titan’s portfolio, Atlas confirmed […] source
While I try to share tips for redeeming miles & points as efficiently as possible, in this post I’d like to address a common misconception that many people seem to have when it comes to booking award travel. Airlines often don’t make award seats available right awayFor many people, the goal with earning miles is to be able to redeem them for first & business class travel during peak travel periods. This is absolutely possible at times, though not necessarily in the way that people assume. Many people believe that the key to snagging the best award seats is to stay…
This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available. The House of Representatives voted to pass a funding package to end the government shutdown late Wednesday. The historic measure, approved by President Trump, paves the way for airlines to resume normal operations and essential airport workers to receive long-awaited paychecks. Senate Democrats and Republicans first agreed on the months-long bill on Sunday before it moved to the House. The record shutdown, which has become the longest impasse in US history, led to a nationwide reduction of air…
I’m lucky enough to have dual citizenship, as both of my parents were born in Germany, and I was born in the United States. Sometimes I get questions from readers about the logistics of traveling with two passports, and figured that’s worth addressing in a post, given that I imagine this is something that many people deal with. Which passport should you provide when you book an airline ticket? Which passport should you show when you check-in for your flight, or when you go through immigration? Do you need to show both passports at every stage of the travel journey?…
Ryanair’s most recent financial results help highlight that profits are rising by an astronomical 40% as Europeans are increasingly opting for closer-to-home holidays at sunny destinations across Europe. Costlier flights across the North Atlantic to the United States, trips that are increasingly politically fraught, are becoming more unpopular than ever. This drastic demand shift has helped lift average fares and load factors on flights all across Europe, as well as on some Ryanair services to North Africa. The airline has also benefitted immensely from earlier-than-forecast deliveries from Boeing. These allowed the airline to add seats rapidly to its most popular…
The United States government shutdown that stretched a record 43 days moved toward its conclusion on November 13, 2025, after the House of Representatives voted 222–209 to approve a funding bill that will reopen federal agencies through January 30, 2026. The legislation, already passed by the Senate, now goes to President Donald Trump, who is expected to sign it. The vote ends the longest federal funding lapse in US history and restores pay to hundreds of thousands of federal workers, including air traffic controllers and Transportation Security Administration personnel. The aviation system, one of the sectors hit hardest during the shutdown, will not return to…
After flying in Etihad’s A380 The Residence, I connected onto an Aer Lingus flight from Paris (CDG) to Dublin (DUB). I flew Aer Lingus’ AerSpace product on the A321LR, which might just be the best value premium product in Europe (since you get a flat bed, and it’s only marginally more expensive than economy). While I’ll of course publish a full review, in this post I’d like to talk a bit about the boarding process of this flight, which was unlike anything I’ve seen before. It wasn’t a big deal at all, I’m just curious if anyone has theories as…
Several foreign airports have US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Preclearance facilities, where you clear immigration prior to boarding your US-bound flight. I recently flew Aer Lingus from Dublin (DUB) to Boston (BOS), and Ireland is the only country in Europe to have such a facility. I’ve been through these facilities several times before, but there were a couple of things I found strange, and I’m curious if anyone has any insights. At US Preclearance facilities, it’s common to have to clear security through a dedicated checkpoint before you pass through US immigration. These security checkpoints are typically separate from…
