All Nippon Airways (ANA) announced on October 30, 2025, that it is discontinuing the AirJapan brand as part of a strategic branding realignment. AirJapan will retain its own air operator certificate within the ANA Group, but its operations will be taken over by the ANA mainline airline. ANA launched AirJapan in 2022 as a hybrid, value-oriented, international carrier with the primary focus of flying tourists from across Asia to Japan. The establishment of AirJapan was, in part, a response to the 2020 launch of Zipair Tokyo, an airline with a similar value proposition set up by competitor Japan Airlines (JAL). …

Not all washers are the same. While most are used to distribute the load of a threaded fastener, some are designed for specific parts, such as fairing washers. What are fairing washers exactly, and what are they used for? Overview of Fairing Washers Fairing washers are specialized washers designed for use on fairings. They are domed or beveled to contour to the shape of fairings. Fairing washers are available in the following materials: Stainless steel High-carbon…
October 30, 2025, © Leeham News: We went through the creation of Airbus’s A321 in the first article, and why its initial sales were slow, and why the sales only picked up after the launch of the A320/A321neo models, and how it came to dominate sales and deliveries in the A320 family after COVID.For an airline, it’s now a matter of what mix of the different A321neo variants to buy. Is there a large penalty to “misuse” an A321LR or XLR on shorter routes, or can a fleet of the more expensive and heavier models be used on shorter routes…
The United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Italy make up the heart of the program, while 20 other nations now fly or have ordered the fifth-generation fighter. In total, they will deploy about 3,000 airframes in three different versions. Although the United States controls almost two-thirds of the global fleet, partners are gradually growing their stealth fighter fleet in order to strengthen the common defense system. The F-35 Lightning II program has grown to become the largest defense project in US history since it began in 2001. The Lockheed Martin F-35, also known as the Joint Strike Fighter…
Founded in 2001, Value Group has become an international leader in the provision of irregular operations (IROPS) solutions to airlines, airports, and ground handlers. The concept of IROPS includes any situation in which passengers are denied boarding for reasons alien to them. This could be due to a whole array of factors, from adverse weather conditions to industrial action or even instances of overbooking by the airline. Currently managed by the second generation of the founding families, Value Group started in northern Italy as a provider of crew services (accommodation and transportation namely) to airlines. The turning point…
By Karl Sinclair Oct 30, 2025, © Leeham News: Airbus (AB) CEO Guillaume Faury is still confident that the commercial aircraft maker can hit this year’s target of 820 aircraft deliveries, despite the snarls it is dealing with in the supply chain. At the end of 1H2025, Airbus had a whopping 60 aircraft sans moteurs. That number dropped to 32 by the end of the third quarter. Faury says that number will hit zero by year-end. Engine issues at both GE and Safran, which power the workhorse A320neo family under the CFM International joint venture, put deliveries badly behind schedule.…
When traveling on a longer journey, you’re likely to have a layover in another airport.
