All airlines cut routes, and Avelo is no exception. You may know by now that the carrier will pull out of Hartford in January. In that month, it will also cease one international service from Raleigh/Durham. Consequently, it will end four of its six international routes across its whole network. And it will entirely stop flying to Cancun and Montego Bay. The latter’s exit was revealed before Jamaica’s devastating Hurricane Melissa. Breeze may replace Avelo on some of those links. Many examples exist of where it has done so. They include flights on various domestic routes from Burbank. However, Breeze…
Additional F-35Bs have joined the carrier as it sails through the Mediterranean on the tail end of the CSG 25 deployment, satisfying a major requirement for the declaration of full operating capability. HMS Prince of Wales is now sailing with the largest air wing hosted on a British carrier in decades, exceeding even the U.S. Marine Corps-augmented air wing that deployed on HMS Queen Elizabeth in 2021. Six F-35Bs departed RAF Marham over the last week to head south and augment the 18 jets that have been deployed on the carrier through the bulk of its deployment to the Indo-Pacific.…
A criminal case that had been held against Boeing for the fatal crashes of Lion Air Flight 610 and Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 has been dropped. Federal Judge Reed O’Connor made the move in the state of Texas, as they dismissed the case upon a request from the Department of Justice. The two aircraft crashes, which occurred in October 2018 (Lion Air) and March 2019 (Ethiopian Airlines), were deadly for all onboard, resulting in a total of 346 fatalities, including passengers and crew. These incidents led to the global grounding of the MAX aircraft, with their airworthiness revoked after the…

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has ordered a 10% reduction in flight capacity at 40 major airports across the country. British Airways is now in the process of quietly re-wiring its transatlantic network in advance of the Summer 2026 travel season, and these changes are more than a simple jump in flight frequency. In London, scarce slots at Heathrow Airport (LHR) are being pointed at thick premium markets where schedule breadth wins the overall share of corporate travelers. London Gatwick Airport (LGW) is being refocused on leisure traffic, with some high-profile US retreats also sprinkled into the overall mix. Headline moves made by the carrier include doubling flights from London Heathrow to Miami International Airport (MIA), flights to Dallas/Fort Worth…
I’d be surprised if this doesn’t pass, quite frankly… Lawmaker proposes renaming airport after President Trump Republican Florida State Representative Meg Weinberger has introduced a proposal to rename Palm Beach International Airport to Donald J. Trump International Airport. As she explained in a statement: “President Trump is the most consequential president of our lifetime and a resident of Palm Beach County, which makes it only fitting to honor him, like many other presidents before him, by naming our airport Donald J. Trump International.” America’s greatest President deserves an airport that bears his name. That’s why I have filed legislation to…
