The Philippines has become a textbook example of post-pandemic revenge travel, but with a premium twist. The term ‘revenge travel’ first appeared on social media in 2021 and was used to describe people taking trips to make up for vacations lost during the global health crisis. But when Emirates introduced its First Class product to Manila in December 2021, Filipino travelers didn’t just show interest, they bought out every seat, every day for the next three years. Emirates operates three daily flights between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL), but only one offers a three-class…
Sun Country Airlines (NYSE: SNCY) has begun scheduled operations with its first Boeing 737-900ER, a larger, longer-range member of the Boeing 737 Next Generation family. The move is small in terms of overall fleet count, but it is a noteworthy signal sent by the airline to passengers, investors, and competitors. The carrier is going to be testing higher-gauge aircraft on its busiest leisure routes, including services to warm-weather and entertainment markets from its principal hub at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP). Early schedules now show that the jet is concentrated on routes from MSP to cities like Orlando (MCO), Phoenix…
Air travel disruptions spread across the United States on Friday, November 7, 2025, as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) began enforcing flight reductions at 40 of the nation’s busiest airports, a move aimed at easing pressure on overworked air traffic controllers during the prolonged federal government shutdown. The FAA confirmed that airlines were instructed to scale back domestic operations between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. each day, with capacity reductions beginning around 4% and rising toward 10% over the next several days if the shutdown continues. Airlines begin cancellations and schedule changes Hundreds of flights were canceled nationwide, with thousands…
American politician and U.S Representative for South Carolina’s 1st congressional district, Nancy Mace, is gearing up to file lawsuits against one of the United States’ largest carriers, American Airlines, claiming that its employees fabricated reports in relation to Mace’s public display of frustration at Charleston Air Force Base-International Airport on October 30. The incident occurred when the airport police had arranged an escort for Mace to her flight upon arrival; however, there had been some confusion around which vehicle she was set to arrive in. According to multiple officers, as noted in the Charleston County Aviation Authority Incident Report, Mace…
China has delayed the return of its three-person Shenzhou-20 crew after the country’s human-spaceflight agency reported that the spacecraft’s return capsule may have been struck by a small piece of orbital debris. The China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) said in a brief statement that engineers were conducting “impact analysis and risk assessment” after the capsule was “suspected of being hit by a small piece of space debris.” The agency did not specify when the suspected strike occurred or describe the extent of any damage. The return of Shenzhou-20 had been scheduled for November 5, 2025, following nearly six months aboard China’s Tiangong space station. The spacecraft remains docked as engineers…
The Boeing 747 family of Jumbos proved to be a very popular ultra-large widebody freighter. Most of the 747s still flying today are freighter variants or freighter conversions from passenger aircraft. Only a few disappearing Boeing 747-400 passenger jets remain in service (mostly with Lufthansa). The vast majority of the over 150 orders Boeing received for its final modernized Boeing 747-8 variant were for purpose-built freighters. The final Boeing 747-400 freighter was delivered in 2009, meaning the youngest aircraft are now around 15 years old. These aircraft benefit from being paid off, but they are incredibly thirsty in terms of…
After initial sorties over the sea south of RAF Akrotiri, flight tracking data now confirms that the RAF’s MQ-9B Protector RG1s have begun missions over the Middle East, presumably on Operation Shader. PR010, an MQ-9B Protector RG1, was tracked departing RAF Akrotiri and flying over Israel and Jordan towards the usual Operation Shader operating areas over Iraq and Syria on two separate occasions in the past week. It is almost certain they have now assumed the Reaper’s role on this ongoing mission, which commenced in 2014.After initial sorties over the sea south of RAF Akrotiri, flight tracking data now confirms…

The Boeing F-47 emerged as the winner from the manned component for the United States Air Force’s Next Generation Air Dominance program (NGAD). The NGAD program also includes Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCAs), known as loyal wingman drones. After a prolonged period of uncertainty that culminated in the Air Force putting the fighter jet on hold pending the incoming Trump Administration’s decision, the Air Force is now rapidly developing the jet as quickly as possible. It should be stressed that the F-47 is an extremely secretive program, and little is known about it or its capabilities. In a rather interesting development,…
On Tuesday, November 4, the world looked on with shock as videos emerged of the fatal UPS Airlines Flight 2976, which burst into flames shortly after takeoff from Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF). The aircraft suffered engine separation, which led to the McDonnell Douglas MD-11F owned by UPS Airlines crashing into an industrial area at the end of the runway. The crash has killed at least 12 people so far, and many are still unaccounted for. All three occupants on board the aircraft perished in the incident. There will be a number of factors that the National Transportation Safety…
