Often when I write about hotels, I’ll mention how many “keys” a particular property has. I can’t count the number of times that OMAAT readers comment on my use of that term. For example, Glenn just asked why I use this term, and said that it’s “one thing that truly bothers [him],” and “it’s beyond irritating.” I of course respect that take, but let me at least try to explain. And if y’all really decide you hate the term that much, let me know, and I’ll stop using it… The simple reason hotel rooms are referred to as “keys” In…
I’ve long published my rankings of the world’s best first class products and best first class lounges. In the past few years, I’ve tried to do the same for business class. It’s kind of hard to truly rank business class products, simply because there’s so much variability in terms of the quality of products across aircraft, food and beverage service can vary significantly across flights, people prioritize very different things in business class, etc. My list of the top business class products is essentially the airlines I generally most enjoy flying in business class, factoring in all the things that…
We just spent a few nights at the 86-key Capella Taipei, which opened in 2025, setting a new standard for hotels in the city. I was very much looking forward to this stay, not just because I thought this specific hotel looked beautiful, but also because I was intrigued by the Capella brand more broadly. I had heard amazing things about Capella, but wasn’t sure what actually set the boutique hotel group apart. Well, now I know, and I’m kind of determined to stay at every Capella property. This brand is much more differentiated than I was expecting. I don’t…
“This is just the beginning. It marks the start of an Artemis program that will evolve to support repeated and affordable missions to the Moon, in line with President Trump’s national space policy. Getting this mission right means returning to the Moon to stay and a future to Artemis 100 and beyond.” Source: NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman, commenting as NASA’s Space Launch System ran into familiar trouble this week, experiencing hydrogen leaks during a very important, very public “wet dress rehearsal” ahead of the Artemis II mission. Though many were hopeful at first, agency head Jared Isaacman confirmed that the…

Saudi flag carrier Saudia is reportedly considering placing a major aircraft order that could include at least 150 jets from Boeing and Airbus, according to industry analysts familiar with fleet planning discussions. The potential deal would support both passenger and cargo operations, replacing ageing aircraft while enabling long-term network growth. It would also align with a broader trend among Middle Eastern airlines, which are accelerating the replacement of older widebody aircraft with more fuel-efficient models to manage operating costs and reduce emissions. Reported discussions remain at an early stage and have not been officially confirmed by Saudia. If concluded, Boeing…
